this may be just my region...

...or just my province, or just my country, but WTF:

I have always bought sandwich bags that come with twist ties. Those are the kind I like best and find handiest. And now, it seems like overnight, no one sells them anymore. It's like I blinked and they vanished. Were they banned recently or somesuch and I just never heard?? So now I have run out and am using some other model which I don't like nearly as much.

It also surprises me somewhat how much this rankles me. It's like I can't stop complaining about it or fuming about it. I feel like I've been betrayed cuz I can't get twist tie bags anymore. Which makes me feel like Dana Carvey's Grumpy Old Man character, which of course flatters my self-image no end....

Well, in my day, if we wanted to store a sandwich, we didn't have handy plastic baggies with a handy twist tie. Oh no! We had to go out and kill a weasel... and skin it... and put the sandwich in its butt. And then it smelled when we took it out -- and not a like a sandwich, either! It stank like a weasel's butt! And we liked it! We loved it!

Rather than say LOL, I will say that you made me laugh out loud there. Sounds more literal and true that way!

I was thinking recently how happy I am that they don't seem to make the sandwich bags without ziplocks anymore. Especially those one that had the foldover bit. I hated those. I AM sorry for your loss, though.

Foldovers are USELESS! Why bother making any attempt to “seal” the bag AT ALL?! Garr...
