My car battery just died too - it's time had come. It happened when I was picking up a computer for my neighbour. I called CAA but it was a busy day (super hot with cars and drivers overheating everywhere). I was going to have a 45 minute wait in the heat and I'd just come off crossing guard duty so I was already on the edge of heat prostration.

The woman at the store brought me a cold Coke and a fellow retailer with a battery booster. I called off CAA, was able to drive to Canadian Tire and wait in the cool while my battery was replaced.

This is the kind of mitigating luck my friend Nancy is famous for.
