Elvis needs boats

I see in some online news that little Iranian boats are buzzing and harassing the US Navy. "The incident ought to remind us all just how real is the threat posed by Iran and just how ready we are to meet that threat if it comes to it," Adm. Mike Mullen — chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff — said.

After the fiasco of the evaporating Iraqi WMD, I wouldn't be at all shocked to see such Iranian "aggression" touted as a rationale to invade -- only to have it turn out that the little boats weren't a threat after all, it was a "misunderstanding" or a "failure of intelligence". Surely I'm not the only one who has been led to feel that the American administration is getting itchy to invade Iran, for whatever reason[s]... if I felt like getting really paranoid, I could wonder if these little boats are actually Iranian, or merely made to appear Iranian.

Whatever, I don't like it.

Since Congress has said that Iran's Revolutionary Guard (or whatever their national army is called) is a terrorist organization, that basically gives Bush carte blanche for invading Iran whenever he damn well feels like it.

And I wonder if he'll just happen to feel like it the morning of January 20, 2009.

I hope Stark succeeds.

"Ask Congress specifically at the time or there will be trouble."

Like that ever stopped him before. Especially with this Congress. Either Pelosi and Reid are very smart, or they're very dumb. Being that Reid is keeping the Senate in pro forma sessions so Bush can't make any interim appointments, I'd say he's smart, but damn, I wish the Dems would wake up on this legislation thing.
