something I am grateful for today

Sorry if you're getting tired of hearing about drawing sutff in these entries, but for me it's a big deal and it does actually elicit gratitude within me, so it does belong here, 'K?

This mornin I was drawing yet another character for this new book, and it turned out so well that I decided to ink it [i.e., turn it into a Good Finished Drawing®]. Mind you, I inked it with a Pigma Micron: since I'm something of a nib snob, part of me feels like that “isn't really inking” ... but I know a lot of cartoonists including pros do their final work with Pigma Microns, and who am I to insult them thus? So let's say that I did really ink it...

Anyhoo, this is the first Good Finished Drawing® I've done in literally years, and it turned out Good! So much so that I regret doing the initial sketch on scratch paper, too bad it wasn't on good white paper so I could really show it. (Maybe I can make a clean scan of it, we'll see...) So: another step forward today in getting my art back!

I know nothing about drawing - the process or the variety or the details so I'm enjoying them. Thank you.

Well, thank you!

I believe that the process is probably different for every artist, so you maybe won't learn that much about drawing here, but you will learn about how I draw. I suspect that I overthink it and get too anal compared to most artists, be forewarned.
