a different kind of road rage

Stupid drivers piss me off royally.

Yeah yeah, I know, big shock big whoop. But I got thinkin about it today... nothing sets me off like some other driver doing something stupid / careless / dangerous / insert - appropriate - negative - adjective - here...

I'm not normally much of one for major-league profanity. If the kids are in the car with me I try to keep a muzzle on my commentary. If just Sharon's in the car with me, I'll let fly a few juicy ones. But if I'm driving alone, I spew out invective that could knock a construction worker off a truck driver. And I'll go on for uninterrupted minutes, venting venting venting...

And the thing is, it happens even if I'm not involved. Like, say I see some guy cutting another guy off dangerously or something. It happened way over there, my car and I were in no danger of being involved in any way, and yet it infuriates me pretty near as much. Honestly, the situation doesn't call for me to react that loudly for that long.

So, I'm thinkin, this anger of mine is probably really about something other than the drivers around me. But what?
