something I am grateful for today

What usually happens when I take the car in to the garage to get a problem looked at:

1) the garage is booked up, backed up, and busy, so I have to leave the car there for a few hours for them to look at it
2) I walk to the office in inclement weather [cuz cars don't need servicing in nice weather, for whatever reason]
3) the garage calls me at the office to tell me what's wrong, what parts need replacing, and how many hundreds of dollars it will cost
4) after work I walk back to the garage in more inclement weather, pay the hundreds of dollars, and take my car home

[Given our current financial circumstances, the cost aspect of #3 is particularly unwelcome right now.]

What happened when I took the car in to the garage to get a problem looked at this mornin:

1) the garage was nearly empty so they took mine in to work on right away
2) I was able to wait in their waiting room cuz it was still a while before I needed to be at work
3) it was a simple adjustment on some parts that were still under warranty, so even the labour was covered -- Total Cost: $zero
4) I drove my newly fixed car to work and still got there early!

So I am grateful for today's unusual-in-multiple-respects garage adventure!

Yay! Mark brought our car in today as well (small fender bender in a parking lot last week) and we weren't so lucky. :(
