after my recent chakral experience i decided to read up a bit on the general area of "energy healing" or whatever you call it... found a reputable book, i'm goin' thru it... early on it gives some exercises for learning to detect your own energy field, things that you're supposed to be able to feel using your hands...

now note that the book didn't say what i would feel, so that you go into the test with no preconceptions or presuppositions... [at the end of the chapter it goes "so, did you feel something like this?", etc]... so, in the interest of open-minded inquiry, i tried these "aura tests" out...

they worked. all of 'em. i did them like twenty times or more.

i felt something as distinct and unignorable as when you're fulla static and then touch metal. no wishful-thinking, oh-i-think-i-caught-a-hint-of-something-there... it was more like bam... (albeit a very gentle quiet bam...)

i felt an interaction between my hands... at times like i could draw a line of energy on one palm by moving a fingertip from the other hand an inch or two away from it, sometimes the energy was so strong it almost hurt... other times it was more like a pressure between my palms, keeping them apart...

have any of you read or heard of a more normal scientific explanation for what goes on between your hands in such circumstances? cuz i don't wanna go off half-cocked [what man would? hur hur hur...] and then find out i was a doofus because it was only a "neural illusion" explained by the hypothalamus or somesuch...

the book says i was feeling my own aura. maybe somebody can suggest something else that i was feeling, something less cosmic...

all i know is i felt something. i did not imagine this....

... but perhaps you...??

my previous entry got me in a paranormal frame of mind so i decided to share one of my fave experiences:

late spring, 1974... it was about 10 or 11 on a brilliant blue saturday morning... the air was fresh, the sun was warm enough for t-shirts, the sky was absolutely clear... there was none of the intense heat or humidity that is often required for mirage conditions to exist, btw... i was sauntering down the street and happened to look up and "over yonder" for no reason...

and i saw It.

okay, now stick your middle finger out [sideways... and not at me, please] and hold it at arm's length... okay, that finger is about how big It appeared in the sky. and It was about the same shape as your finger, too... or a cigar... or the body of a 767...

It looked like It was made of bright chrome, the sun made very distinct highlights on It (which is how i could tell It was cylindrical, by the way the light hit It)... the only features It had were two very fine black lines going round It near the front, almost like seams...

It travelled in a straight line across the sky, smooth, not super fast [but faster than a blimp can go]... leaving no exhaust, not making a sound (and the neighbourhood was dead quiet at the time, all i could hear were birds in the trees)... i watched It fly past for about 3 or 4 seconds, and then It vanished... not with a flash of light or fading away or any SFX... just that i had my eyes on It and then in the next instant all i saw was blue sky...

do the finger at arm's length thing again. okay, now if you were looking at a plane in the sky that appeared to be that big, you would be able to see its tail and wings and windows, right? and you'd be able to hear it... you can hear them from a helluva lot farther away than that... but i was clearly able to see that It did not have a tail or wings or windows... just the two lines... and, as i said, It was dead silent... so It was not a plane that i saw, i couldn't have....

i'm not proposing to suggest that i have any idea what It was, but i know i saw It, and i did so under conditions of ideal visibility... you couldn't ask for a better time and place to see something in the sky... and all the UFO explaining-aways that i know of, don't hold up or explain away my sighting...

as much as i've been a science dude all my life, i admit that i have personally experienced things that science cannot adequately account for... all that "heaven and earth horatio" sutff, i guess, eh?
