something I am grateful for today

Yesterday was a gorgeous Septembery day so we went out and planted a whole whack o' bulbs for the spring. I realized that gardening, which for me is primarily a chore, has some nice bits that I really noticed this time -- for example, I really like the smell of damp dirt when you dig a hole in it. And it was nice to get it done, and it'll be nice to see the new flowers come up next year.
