something I am grateful for today

Black coffee.

Woollcott notwithstanding, it is one of life's profound pleasures which is neither immoral*, illegal, nor fattening. And when one considers the global trading network which needs to be in place in order for it to be available in my corner of the world, its presence in my life becomes that much more miraculous.

2010: A Sketch Odyssey

Had a quiet while over coffee this mornin where I was working on some rough sketches of the villain in my new comic. And y'know, they weren't that bad at all... I might even go so far as to call them satisfactory.

Mind you, this is cheating a bit, as I was just drawing heads and faces. When I doodle, heads and faces are what I'm most likely to draw, so this is the area of drawing where I am already the least rusty. I still have so much rust to work out in so many other areas, but be that as it may... anything that helps restore a bit of my artistic confidence has got to be a good thing, eh?
