Got our income taxes done last night. Not quite as early as last year, but still my second-earliest ever!* And both of us are getting four-figure refunds to boot!**

* I bet I could've done it even earlier if I hadn't had that virus kafuffle tying up my PC for weeks...

** which we could really use this year, BTW.

- I have decided that I will post the finished pages online when A) I have completed five of them (page 5 strikes me as a good breathing point in this story) and B) I have figured out where to post them. I am currently beginning to pencil page 4, BTW.

Does that sound like a plan? Or should I wait until the whole thing is done? Or post what's ready, sooner than that? Any opinions? I'm really kinda wingin it here...

- it occurs to me that this is pretty much the first comic book I've ever made [in adulthood] where I'm not trying to “say something”. Usually I have a theme in mind before I even start drawing, I always have a point I'm trying to make -- something about my views about life and the world and whatnot. This time, none of that: all I'm trying to do here is amuse myself, which I am managing to do. I find it strangely liberating.

- conversely, I'm less sure than ever about how this work will go over with readers. How can I gauge what they'll get out of my comic if I'm not trying to put anything in? Liberating can also be a little unnerving...
