something I am grateful for today

A day off -- where I can decide and choose what I want to do, rather than have circumstances dictate what I have to do.

(I'm pretty sure I will make an excellent retiree.)

sudden random thought

When I was in my teens and twenties, I was such a fan of sarcasm. Thought it was one of the most brilliant forms of humour, devoured it and tried to emulate it.

Somewhere over the decades, though, that all went away. It no longer impresses me and it rarely seems like it's called for. I try not to use it myself anymore.

I wonder what happened.
