something I am grateful for today

I remember that, back in my teens and twenties, robins didn't impress me. I was more like “Yeah, so I see a robin. What makes this one any different than the zillion other ones I've already seen?” As if “not new” and “not different” = “boring”.
I dunno when things changed, but at some point in my later years I realized that (to paraphrase
keelamonster) “each one is its own little miracle”. I guess you have to get older to appreciate sutff like that. So I see it as one of the perks of age! :)
