something I am grateful for today

Hearing aids. Today I am hearing with a clarity and unmuffled crispness that I haven't experienced in at least two years, probably longer. A lot of it is actually still weird but I expect I will adjust.

These are on loan for two weeks, after which time I will go back to the muffly world while I save up my pennies to buy my own -- we have essentially no coverage for such devices. But at least now I know what I'm saving up for.
