something I am grateful for today

That there is some tangible financial benefit to getting old.

Today I received my first-ever seniors' discount at a store -- and I was given it without even being asked. I didn't really even notice it until I checked my receipt after I was out of the store: the cashier just automatically rang it up that way, with me not paying close attention.

However, I checked afterward and found out that this store's senior discount policy applies to people 60 and up. Since I am currently 56, I'm not real sure how to take this...   :\
