something I am grateful for today
Apr. 15th, 2018 08:06 ama sudden and powerful flash of insight:
From time to time, I get friends recommending things like TV shows I should watch, etc., and I normally file them away for later but almost never follow up on them. Last night, someone gave me similar recommendations of things intended to enrich or enhance my life, and in reply I said, "I already don't spend enough time working on comics -- I don't need more things to do, I need less!"
[Yes, I know that technically I meant to say “fewer”. Mea informala.]
And now it hits me that I have articulated an unaddressed need. I do want to spend more time on comics, and I do want to simplify my life and remove optional distractions. But I suddenly saw that I spend no time giving the matter any conscious thought or making any deliberate effort along these lines. However, I could.
I feel like I have discovered a new star toward which I can steer my ship.
