something I am grateful for today

-- although this comic may have an air of a frivolous one-off created by a young artist still in his formative stages, I keep returning to it, finding deep inspiration in Tonči Zonjić's effective uses of the very limited palette of black, white, and what amounts to one single shade of gray (closer inspection tells me there are in fact two).... There are few examples nowadays of artists doing effective B&W work, other than manga which is generally much more complex in its techniques. Mono Johnson and its stripped-down approach to B&W presentation is having a profound effect on how I think about my newest work.
