After we checked out this morning, Margery and her clan treated us to breakfast out, then took us back to her place for a parting visit -- where I saw more of those crowned chimneys:

Then she took us to the train station at noon, by which time the drizzle had let up and the sun was out again for the first time in days:

The bright day gave us a clearer view of the grazing animals we passed, including more flocks of peaceful sheep:

We had a brief stopover at the train station in Leeds:

This involved some confusion, including cancelled trains and changes in platform to catch our connection... and I had a chance to see at least a glimpse of the city itself:

From there, we finally arrived in York and returned to the same flat we stayed in last year, so it was very much like a homecoming. Today, I discovered that, with the leaves fallen from the trees, we can see York Minster from our living room window! (Last year we were here in summer and the foliage completely blocked that view...) A short jaunt out for coffee and groceries, then we wrapped up the day kicking back in the flat -- wanting nothing more than to put our feet up for a while!
