That I retain a capacity to enjoy things that are intended for young children. If it's well done, I can still derive substantial pleasure from it. For example, the Ramona books and TV series. For another, I'm currently reading Happy Happy Clover**. This is an aspect of myself that I fully appreciate, in part because I have a deep and long-standing desire to create something of my own for children that is truly well done...
Oh, the looks I get. [From my own family, even.] But hey, I'm good.
I'm good.
** - I love that Clover isn't just happy, she's happy happy! :D

One of my Christmas presents last year was a set of the the first four books in the series. I'd long ago lost my original copies, which were paperbacks and probably battered and falling apart from re-reading. I still loved them just as much, and I still re-read other childhood favorites like the Little House books and the Time Quartet by Madeline L'Engle. Nothing wrong with that at all!
