self-esteem
Jan. 29th, 2003 12:34 pm(besides being my fave Offspring song ;) ... )
this morning my neighbour in the next cubicle was complaining about her husband, who sounds like something out of a 50s sitcom... he figures since he "works all day" he should come home and have everything done for him. unlike in a 50s sitcom, though, his wife [that'd be my neighbour, y'see] works full-time, takes the occasional night class to earn a business degree, takes the kids to little league, etc... and things like last night where she put in overtime conducting an evening info session for the department... then came home and hubby expected her to get cracking on supper cuz no one had eaten yet...
you get the gist, i take it...
so while she's going on about all the things this guy wont do, i got thinking about the things that i will do. the last person up in the morning in our house is sharon. if we're having coffee that morning, i make it. if the kids need help getting their lunch made for school, i do it. paying the bills: me. dishes: me. lawn mowing (what little there is of it): me. grocery shopping: more often than not, me. laundry: about half the time, me. cooking supper: nearly half the time, me. chauffeuring the kids places: as long as im not too sick to drive, me. killing bugs: me...
after hearing about this other guy, i feel like i am a frickin prince! *LOL* go curmudge!
[those of you who know damn well that i aint no prince, could you please keep it to yourself just for now? otherwise youll undercut the effectiveness of this entry, eh.... thanx] ;)
