stage fright

tonight is when i go out of town for my sleep apnea test. basically, i have to go into the lab and sleep all night, pretending that there arent wires sticking out of me [good luck]

whats striking me as weird today is the realization that im spending the night somewhere without anyone from my family with me. i cant remember the last time i did that. i almost cant believe that no one is coming with me for this...

im not scared, i just feel really strange and self-conscious... this morning i was packing an overnight bag, and realized that no one else was asking to put any of their stuff in with mine. i made sure i picked jammies that would "look okay to the lab technicians". i packed a book to read before bed and thought about "well what will they think if they see me reading this? or this?"... etc etc... i feel like im gonna sleep in a fishbowl... promises to be an unusual night if nothing else...
