something I am grateful for today

As a child I was always taught to “say grace” and express thanks for my food. Being a child, I interpreted this as yet one more onerous duty imposed upon me by those in power and I took my food for granted.
Today I look at my lot in life and see that I always have something to eat -- almost without exception something that I enjoy eating. And today that strikes me as privilege heaped upon blessing. And I realize that, without making a formal outward display of it, now I do say grace frequently. [But even more frequent would not be amiss...]
