something I am grateful for today

There was a period in the 90s where I was having trouble with my knees and often used a cane to help me walk. Then I was able to get corrective orthotic insoles [which were covered by our employee insurance, something else I'm grateful for] and since then I can walk without assistance and without pain.
I know a number of people who have trouble walking even a short number of steps before it starts hurting them badly in various places [yet they're not officially "disabled"]. As you might imagine, this impacts their quality of life significantly and often. While I wish for improvements for them, I am grateful that I have those improvements myself.
I should walk more. It would be good for me to walk more.
