something I am grateful for today

For the last few days it hasn't really been hot. (For a while there it was getting pretty hot pretty frequently.) Possibly the heat wavelets are over for the year?

It's tougher lately, finding things to be grateful for. Life seems to have become a tougher row to hoe. Not sure why: most of what I'm confronting is not new -- I just seem to be bearing up less well for whatever reason, and it's affecting my attitude.

I could always re-run an old gratitude item whenever I get stuck (e.g., I'm always glad to be alive every day)... but I don't want this process to degenerate into a “going through the motions” daily grind. I'd rather greet each day mindfully, come up with something fresh and honest, and if that means some days slip by when I'm stuck for an entry, then so be it.
