something I am grateful for today

All the cute little kids that came trick-or-treating last night! One of my faves was a little girl of about 3 or 4, sporting an immense pirate hat!

And we were so proud of Hunter last night, as for the first time he took on the lion's share of door-answering (to spare my knees etc.). He is so good with little kids! He had a friendly little chat with every single one that came to the door, praising their costumes, offering them a choice from the treat bowl, etc. And they all thought he was great -- a lot of warm responses back and forth all evening.

Not that I want to push him into anything before he's really ready for it, but that boy really needs to become a father some day.
