something I am grateful for today

I read a PostSecret today where someone said they would never “settle for a boring life”. I realized that a boring life has been my goal, all along.
I often look back at the week that has just passed, and realize that the week did not contain a single surprise, and I thank God. My life is down to a stable routine, and I love it. Because this “boredom” I'm talking about doesn't mean “nothing good to do” -- I always have something good to do, and part of my routine is doing those things. I guess I'm talking about “boredom” as meaning a life without the thrill of adventure and exciting new things. Believe it or not, some of us don't want those thrills -- for me, they spell stress!
My life has challenges, but they are ones which I freely choose (and usually they involve drawing). Those are the only kinds of challenges which I actively enjoy -- the ones I choose. And when my life only contains those ones, when my life is stable and serene, I have a warm glow of contentment. Some of us live this way on purpose.
