something I am grateful for today

This mornin a young family came to look at our house with the potential for buying it. They were here a couple days ago, so today was their second viewing and this time they brought their parents. All that indicates “serious interest”.
When they were done their second go-round, they asked about where they could go for a coffee that was close by. We made a few suggestions, and they said “Okay, we're gonna go over there and grab a coffee and talk this over and then we'll call you back.” To us, that indicated “even more serious interest”, the kind that might involve a tentative offer being put forth.
No one has made us an offer on the house yet, so this was a pretty exciting turn of events, and despite everything we felt hopeful. Seriously, feel-it-in-your-bonesy hopeful. For probably the first time since this all started.
Since then, several hours have gone by and these folx never did call us back, so it's quite possible that they never will, just like all the others that have made vague mentions of “we'll get back to you”. But for a little while there, we felt bright enlivening hope, and while it lasted it was pretty sweet. Maybe we were also pretty naive with it, but what the hey.
UPDATE: turns out that they never called... but later in the afternoon they made an offer online thru the PropertyGuys website! We're now in the process of coming up with a response to it! Rollercoaster!!
