something I am grateful for today

I am not grateful for the snowplow that came by a half-hour before I needed to leave for work, blocking in my driveway and obliging me to find an extra ten minutes from God-knows-where to shovel out the windrow, along with all the other getting-ready I still needed to do.**
I am grateful that I was able to clear the driveway and still leave the house on time anyway. Not sure exactly how that happened... maybe magic?
** FWIW, I got up early this mornin on the off chance that a plow had come by during the night (which often happens), so I had lots of time to clear the driveway then -- when it wasn't necessary. No, the plow has to wait until I have no time before it dumps its task in my lap...
And no, don't say “Well, if you were up early and didn't need to shovel, why didn't you finish all your getting ready then?” There are some getting-ready things that I can't really do until shortly before it's time to go -- trust me on this one, okay?
