A therapist has pointed out to me that I am dealing with similar financial, personal, and health issues that I was facing a few years ago. But that I am negotiating them with more grace and a more buoyant spirit than I was back at that time.

According to her, the main reason for this is that I am now drawing regularly whereas a few years ago I was not.

I dunno... I mean, I feel no need to shoot this idea down immediately. I am giving it some thought.

Any thoughts from you?

That was around 2003-2004, from what I recall -- clearly I don't exactly remember, but it was too early to be a factor in this.

However, in the last couple years, I not only started drawing again, I also started up my quasi-daily gratitude posts. Which makes for a messy experiment (two variables) but satisfactory results regardless.

Well, it seems like the gratitude material largely concerns peripheral stuff -- weather, rabbits, music. These are areas where you have no strategy and expect no progress, so they aren't really part of your self-definition.

The drawing is a lot closer to home.

It's all sutff that helps me get centred and find peace, though. It all affects my perspective on my life. Cognitive therapy, perhaps?
