something I am grateful for today

Bringing my car in to get the lights fixed this morning, them starting work on it immediately, finishing in less than half an hour [ = got to work in plenty of time], and letting me pay for it with Canadian Tire money! Woot!

I had never heard of Canadian Tire Money. Fascinating.

Do they do special things to it to make it hard to counterfeit?

Not so far as I can tell, and yet they manage to detect them somehow -- see the third item at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Tire_money#Usage_beyond_Canadian_Tire

Then I interpret this as a sign of the legendary polite courtesy of Canadians, that they never say to themselves "Hey, I could make money with my inkjet printer..."

(Notice the counterfeiter was in Germany.)
