Actually, it was part of a tiny rant about the way, at present, brand name dictates success in creative fields at the expense of demonstrable skills, and how the lack of any objective metrics works against the vast majority of creative talents (who have skills but not a brand).
This contrasts sharply with, say, athletics, where objective metrics are the key to success instead. Run 100m in 9.9 seconds and you are on the Olympic team, and nobody gives a damn if you're famous.
