reclaiming the day

Today there will be so many posts, here and everywhere, about September 11th vis-a-vis that date in 2001 when the World Trade Center came down and the Pentagon was attacked. I'm not sure how much useful I could contribute to those discussions this year.
For some reason, this year I'm thinkin that today's date isn't purely about Awfulness. Good things have always happened on 9/11 too, and they continue to happen, I'm sure. People are born on 9/11, they get married on 9/11, and we shouldn't allow the media and the public to mar their happiness every year. Sutff like that, is what I'm gettin at here.... so here's my feeble little attempt to focus on a happy 9/11 item:

today happens to be the birthday [The Big Four-Oh, no less] of my musical hero Kay Hanley. Happy birthday, Kay, and have a great one -- I love you and you rock!
