something I am grateful for today

Christmas lights.

On my way home tonight, it seemed to me that, this year, a lot more houses are putting up Christmas lights, and doing it earlier. I was really in the mood for them today and it cheered me to see them.

I'm so happy to see lights going back up! This year more than ever before it struck me how dark streets look in the lull between Halloween and Christmas decorations. I keep petitioning to invent some event that requires lights up all winter long.
