something I am grateful for today

After shovelling snow three times in 24 hours, my back and [esp.] my arms were in a lot of pain. Fortunately I had a massage booked for this mornin and it was an immense help with much improvement all round. Thanks, Lisa!

stranger in the mirror?

As I was walking up the drive to my appointment this mornin, I was saying to myself I hate this weather! Cold and blustery, and treacherous patches on the roads, yadda yadda...

And then I noticed a pretty patch of snow on some branches, and realized that I felt kinda refreshed by the brisk air, and I became aware that I don't hate everything about it. Some parts are worse than others, yes [e.g., leaving our driveway this mornin, the car got stuck in the mouth of it for a bit, even though we had shovelled it out, and for a panicky second I wondered if we were gonna get thoroughly stuck as happened once last winter, but no today we got out OK]. But even so, today I found myself appreciating some pleasant things in the middle of winter storm weather, which is one of the “things I know I hate most in the world”....

This daily gratitude sutff is warping my personality. I dunno how else to explain it. Or maybe I'm just plain growing up a bit.
