something I am grateful for today

On a normal work mornin, I have a little time to grab a coffee @ *$ and work on my comics before I have to go in to the office. In a coffee shop I don't do finished art [neither the time nor the place for that] -- I will either write scripts or draw rough page layouts [just a pencil scribble on a folded sheet of copier paper, to show me what size and shape the panels will be on the page, where the word balloons will go, a rough indication of each panel's composition, yadda yadda]. Rough layouts give me an idea of where to start when I get to drawing the good full-size pencils. Anyhoo...
This mornin I had to take a while off work to be at my old house while it was getting inspected. I wasn't allowed to “participate” in the inspection, I just needed to sit out of the way while the inspector inspected. (He appreciated that I was there, though, cuz a couple of times he had questions for me.) So while he worked and I waited... I acted like I was @ *$, minus the coffee. I worked on rough layouts.
I got like about twelve rough layouts done! That's a major chunk of comic designing taken care of in not too long -- purdy good!
