I often get strong visual impressions, pictures in my mind's eye, during my massage/craniosacral therapy sessions. Afterward, Christal [my therapist] and I compare what we "saw", and it's interesting how often we both pick up on something happening at the same instant. But what we see, how our minds interpret it, is quite different. I tend to see colours and lights and vague shapes, she sees actual beings...
At one point during a recent session, I got the strong, distinct impression of wings. Like I could see a full set of huge feathers growing from the bottom edge of my arms. They were proportional wings -- like a bird, very little of the total area was my flesh and bone. The longest feathers, reaching out from my pinky fingers, were longer than my arm. And the feathers were bright snow white, almost a blue white. The wings folded and rustled as my arms moved, and I stretched
my arms out as far as I could. (To be more precise, Christal was doing energy work on one arm at a time. She held me at the elbow and wrist, and I felt subtle pressure from her hands guiding me to unfold and reach out the arm, so I did. When she worked on the other arm, the same thing happened again.)
After the session, I told her that I saw wings... and she brightened up in delight and said "So did I!" Although what she described was more like a being of "blue-white light" emerging and emanating from the back of my head, flowing out along my arms, and then spreading out into wings. Even so, it's the first time that what we saw corresponded that closely.
She also told me that she wasn't moving my arms -- when she felt me move, she followed her hands along with me to keep me supported. So each of us feels that we were not responsible for moving my arms... so who was?
I thought it was cool.
