something I am grateful for today

When people call me “Johnny” out of genuine affection -- no irony, hidden smirk, teasing, etc. There are few who can pull it off.

Did you go by it as a child? My dad and brother are both Johns and went by "Johnny" as kids. It was funny for me to hear my dad's aunts call him that when I was little. :) My brother switched to John around age 11 or 12, but to me he'll always be "Johnny."

Some of my relatives called me that, but not my parents or brothers. And not really any of my friends that I can recall.

You're not a Johnny kinda guy, John. The kind of guy who gets called Johnny as an adult is a fighter pilot or extreme sportsman, youngish super hero or maybe a country western singer. You could have an alter-ego named Johnny, I suppose. Mild-mannered John by day, but at night you become Stormin' Johnny Cloud.

Well, some people find me a Johnny kinda guy, and I enjoy those folx! :) But I'm still good with the ones who don't, too. :D
