When people call me “Johnny” out of genuine affection -- no irony, hidden smirk, teasing, etc. There are few who can pull it off.

Some of my relatives called me that, but not my parents or brothers. And not really any of my friends that I can recall.

You're not a Johnny kinda guy, John. The kind of guy who gets called Johnny as an adult is a fighter pilot or extreme sportsman, youngish super hero or maybe a country western singer. You could have an alter-ego named Johnny, I suppose. Mild-mannered John by day, but at night you become Stormin' Johnny Cloud.
