Oh, I am so there with you. My parents provided so, so little clothing when I was a kid and what there was was awful. There's nothing more disgusting than hand-me-down underwear. I went to work when I was 13, and almost every penny I was allowed to keep went toward clothing.
One of the greatest joys of my life is having a closet full of beautifully made, well-fitting clothes, and it's not because I'm a fashion plate.
I was with you on the reliable car yesterday, too, but didn't have time to say so! Thanks for helping me remember how grateful I am, too. :-)
Actually, I don't have lots of clothes -- definitely not a closet full. [Sharon often expresses dismay at how few I have, how old they are, how often I keep wearing the same outfits again and again, etc.] But everything I have is comfortable and in good shape, looks OK on me, and I have enough to easily get through a week. And when something wears out, I'm able to go out and get more. So I'm good.
